Orthopaedic Surgeon
Douglas P. Galuk, MD, FAAOS, is an orthopaedic surgeon at Wisconsin River Orthopaedics, serving patients in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Galuk chose medicine because he’s always been fascinated by anatomy and the mechanics of the human body. He grew up on a farm and enjoyed learning how to fix things with his hands. Orthopaedic surgery allowed him to combine his love of anatomy and mechanical repair in a truly exciting and gratifying way. God has given him the opportunity to help many people in all walks of life, including the mission field.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth and completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Galuk is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, and Wisconsin Medical Society.
Dr. Galuk enjoys patient interactions and seeing patients transition from pain and apprehension to restored function and confidence. It is impossible for him to separate his faith from how he practices. He strives to treat each patient as a child of God and to provide the best care possible.
Dr. Galuk’s best quality as a practitioner is the joy he has in doing the job for which he was called by God to do. This joy brings energy and excitement to every facet of his day and even gives him strength because he works in the most rewarding job in the world.
His primary interest is in loving God with everything he has. Dr. Galuk enjoys snowboarding, water sports, piloting small aircraft, and serving Christ with his family on overseas missions.
